Before I learned how to meditate, I was fearful of it for multiple reasons. I realized most of my fear was based in two beliefs about it:

2) I grew up in a religious home and meditation was “of the devil”

I remember the first timeI sat down to meditate. It was horrible!

I started where most people start- on YouTube. The first video I watched was from a well-known “expert” in the industry. Not only was the voice hard to listen to, a few minutes into the video I was instructed to sit in stillness with no thoughts while a gong was being banged in the background.

"How the f*ck do I do that?" was the exact thought that ran through my mind.
